Location and staff.
The horrendous sewage that came up from the toilet. The snell made us evacuate quickly . It was absolutely sickening so i couldn't use the shower before we left. Nausea stayed with ys al, day actually.
We were offered a reduction of sone tax you put on after, all of £12 ish.
This does mot reflect the impact of this exit.
We are stoic and have thought long and hard about giving this feedback but we are thankful we were not there fir a second night. Moving cases etc. it’s supposed to be a relaxing experience after all. ,
We have stayed many times before but think, in hindsight, without feeling nauseas at the reception desk , this mitigating offer was paltry.

The bathrooms are spacious. The breakfast is good and has a quiet, boutique hotel feel. Overal the hotel is well maintained and in the great location. The decor is great and there is great attention to detail.
The bed was a bit small (not a king), the tv was not a smart tv which would have been a relatively small thing for a hotel to upgrade.
The hotel didn't have a gym or spa, which for a 5 star hotel is unusual, although there was a paid public gym nearby.
Overal i would rate this hotel more like a 4 star hotel than a 5 star.

Great location and decor, we loved the room (one of the suites) and the staff were friendly. We didn't try the restaurant but we enjoyed a drink in Club Brass.
We were in Manchester an extra night due to poor weather and didn't have a physical bank card with us, which meant we had a holding charge of £150 for the room. I had other ID on me so it was a frustrating extra cost, although I understand with upmarket hotels that it is a common policy. We were unable to get anything but Freeview on the TV despite Netflix and Disney being available as they would not work. It was also a shame that the camera to view outside on the media wall wasn't working either.

Staff were friendly. Great location.
The bed wasn't the that comfy. Could here springs with any slight change in position in the bed.
The mattress was to big for the base of the bed.
The sink didnt drain very well, but fed this back to staff to sort when we checked out.

The hotel is fabulous, very luxurious, clean & just wow! The staff here can’t do enough for you. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel & I will definitely be going back. The room was gorgeous, the bed was so comfortable, it’s a lovely experience staying here.

First time staying at the Gotham and what a gorgeous place it is! The room was cosy and comfortable - the bed, the decor just loved it. The view from our room was also fab. All staff were welcoming and attentive. Loved the expierence and will definitely stay here again.
One thing that disappointed us slightly was the hotel bar had no beer available and the service was quite slow but wouldn’t stop us from staying again.

Decor is gorgeous and very well done. Daytime staff were very friendly, check in was easy and we were able to check in early as our room was ready.
Only 1 niggle.
1 member of staff taking room service up on the lift didn't notice we were already in the lift when the doors opened as he was to busy on his mobile phone so he procedded to enter the lift running over my husbands foot and marking his shoes.

The hotel looks amazing.
But on arrival it's definitely lots of things for show!
I had tried to contact the hotel a few times
With no Success.
Overall very disappointing for the price
The room was quite dirty.
The bed was super uncomfortable.
The air conditioning unit did not work, and as it was cold outside, the traditional windows obviously let the cold air in.
I think these things are simple things that as a high-end hotel should be absolutely perfect
I'm very disappointed.
The breakfast was decidedly average.
The table was super small even for two of us.
Coffee did not arrive as requested.
Generally, we paid over the top for something very average indeed..
We would not recommend it.
We were told at checkout that people very rarely complain!!!
We are very well travelled and this hotel is very, very disappointing.
And very expensive.
There is lots of fuss and no real substance.
