Situated at 100 King Street in the central conservation area, The Rex occupies the former Midland Bank, one of Manchester’s most distinguished buildings. It’s a beautiful hotel but clearly in the middle of changing a lot of things
We were on a floor with kids running around and slamming doors until silly o’clock. Same family were then up early chatting in the hallway. When we went for a few drinks on the terrace, the man serving us spilled my drink on the table - wiped some of it with his hand and left to get a napkin. When we went to go and get on ourselves we saw his sat eating. The moment he saw us he waved to the napkins with a mouth full of food. The room we stayed in had missing decorations or fixtures - I can only assume as large screws were sticking out of the walls where something clearly once was. Overall, not worth the money we paid for, not the service I’ve had previously. Wouldn’t stay again.

Perfect stop for town centre night out and shopping easy to get too!
Mattress very hard pillows too big! All staying ended up with sore necks. A choice of pillows for the price would be good and need to look at the mattresses as very hard

Everything about this hotel was excellent. Staff could not do enough to make our stay special. Rooms were spacious and clean. Roof top bar was a highlight!!. Location could not have been better!!. Will definitely stay here again.

No real change so high quality hotel we like to use
Check in seems a slow process compared to other hotels. On this occasion given wrong room number on check in so went from floor 6 down to floor 1 only to have to go all the way back up and repeat ! Plus our bathroom (Room 101) had multiple screws projecting from wall where items had been removed.
